Visas for Business Travel
Business Traveler's Guide to Visas
There are many types of visas for businesspersons traveling to the United States.
Business/Tourist Visa(B1/B2) information
Business travelers who wish to visit the U.S. for a short period of time to conduct meetings, attend conferences, promote business development, or engage in other similar activities, should apply for a B-1 visa. Generally speaking, it is not permitted to work or seek employment while in the U.S. on a B-1 visa.
B-1 in Lieu of H
Any person holding a B1 or B1/B2 visa may be eligible to perform H-1B work in the United States as long as he or she fulfills certain criteria. Click here for more information.
Temporary Work Visas: H and L (also O and P)
Highly skilled temporary workers may be employed in the United States on H, L, or other temporary work visas. Each of these visas requires an approved petition from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security before a visa interview. Click here for more information.
