The Department of State’s Bureau of Consular Affairs, Overseas Citizens Services, views the protection of children as one of our highest priorities. Overseas Citizens Services is actively engaged in the many matters relating to children and families as they cross international borders. The Office of Children's Issues, a division within Overseas Citizens Services, provides specific services to parents in intercountry adoption and international family abductions.

Register with the Consulate

  • We urge all U.S. citizens to register online with the U.S. Consulate.  This will enable ACS to contact you by e-mail whenever we have security or other information to share, or should there ever be an emergency or other crisis.  Click here to register.

Important Note

  • *Effective April 1, 2009, all Indian adoption cases by U.S. citizens will be processed in New Delhi.
