Next Steps

At the end of your interview, the Consular Officer will tell you about the status of your case.  If your visa is approved:

Congratulations!  The next steps:

  • Expect courier delivery of your visa within 3-4 business days, or click here for information about picking it up in person.
  • Visit the Department of Homeland Security site to learn about the inspection process when you arrive at a U.S. port of entry.
  • Enjoy your visit to the United States.

If your visa is not immediately approvable it is for one of the following reasons.  Please follow the links below for more information.

  1. Refused because you do not meet the qualifications for that visa category.
  2. Refused because we need more information
  3. Refused pending administrative processing
